Transmission / Rear
Four Speed Top Loader, 3:54 gears, Early 427 Cobras reflected the transition between the cubic inch cars. Early 427 Cobras reflected the transition between the between the 289 cubic inch cars and the 427 cubic inch cars. This is a replica of CSX3002, a hybrid car with many left over characteristics from the discontinued 289 cars.
These Characteristics are:
289 style "thin" front end, 289 style flat bottom nose with no provision for oil cooler below the grill (rectangular oil cooler was grafted on) 289 style dash and instrument layout, 289 style front braced roll bar, lack od "427" emblems on the fenders. This car does carry the wide hip 427 rear end and the beefier chassis along with the full race 427 aluminum head side oiler engine.
Note: the wire mesh covered ventilation in the wheel wells/ducts routing air to cool the front brakes.
